This solution addresses an issue in the supply chain for smallholder dairy farmers in rural Uganda, the necessity for cooling when transporting milk from the farm to the milk collection centres. It allows the farmers to increase their yield and gain access to a stable income, the relevant sustainable development goals addressed are; 1, 2, 7, 8 & 10. Partnership and delegation between international universities (Swansea and Makere) has provided a real insight into the problem and the prospective impact that access to cooling can have for the targetted demographic. Empowering and engaging communites through projects such as these is how the SDGs will be met, especially in developing countries.
