The main challenge in the vegetable supply chain is the wastage that occurs due to inadequacies
in the cold chain. The impact of this wastage is enormous, for instance many potential consumers
in need of buying vegetables are not able to find the vegetables fresh. In fact, often times vegetables
are left to rot away and/or discarded, resulting in significant financial burdens by farmers and
market vendors. Therefore, a clear and urgent need for efficient and effective
vegetable delivery, addressing the issue of cold storage is of high priority.
